Operational and Field Support
Deploying staff to a new operating environment can be a daunting and costly exercise. BSG understands the myriad of planning considerations that go into establishing and sustaining a project in hostile or high risk environments and are available to provide bespoke solutions and support.
BSG can provide a host of in-country life support solutions that include:
- Sourcing of office premises, residences or long term guest house accommodation that meets a high standard of security.
- Sourcing of support staff in country; cooks, cleaners, drivers.
- Procurement or leasing of satellite phones.
- Tracking equipment and software, including vehicle, hand portable, Blackberry and Android enabled tracking applications that include panic button functions and subsequent response plans.
- Supplying sensible and functional medical packs with items that staff are trained on how to use (if participation in Basic Life Support Training is possible).
BSG can also deploy abroad to conduct a number of advance operational activities:
- Identify and source suitable residence and/or office premises (ensuring company is getting market rate on rent and that the sites meet company requirements).
- Conduct any site surveys on pre-determined or pre-arranged hotels, residences and offices with realistic and cost effective security infrastructure solutions and recommendations if required.
- Screen and conduct due diligence on any private security providers in country, particularly armed guards to be placed on residential or office compounds.
- Conduct performance and due diligence assessments on pre-arranged drivers and vehicles (are they safe, value for money and reliable?). If required BSG can source vehicles and drivers for projects, ensuring they are getting the correct rates, safe vehicles, trained and knowledgeable drivers and that no exploitation can take place.
- Build and preview a safe life support and social structure for incoming Company staff. This will ensure that deployed personnel know where they can shop, eat, socialize, find life support facilities (hospital, police, embassies, safe havens) and travel in confidence. Our experience has shown that by providing this 'social information package' to incoming teams we are enabling a prompt, well informed start to new projects, particularly if staff are to be in country for some considerable time.
- In addition to the above activity, BSG can be there in-country to receive new project staff, introduce them to their new surroundings and provide them with settlement guidance as they start work in a new environment.
